Attention, school districts (located in formerly designated Abbott districts): We invite you to partake in our 2015 Oral Health Education Initiative Grant Giveaway! This grant is for students in third grades and/or fourth grades.
Since 2007, the Delta Dental of New Jersey Foundation has been committed to spreading proper dental health knowledge throughout school systems. To date, more than $93,000 in grants have been awarded to schools to implement an oral health education program.
Dental statistics are staggering in schools located urban areas. Only about 10% of students receive routine dental care, while almost 50% of students suffer from tooth decay and other oral complications. With proper funding, these schools will be able to effectively teach young students the importance of a healthy smile.
This year, at least 3 lucky schools will receive up to $5,000 towards the development of their own oral health educational programs (examples of lessons include: learning how to properly brush and floss, reading books about visiting the dentist, and school assembly programs).
Keep New Jersey’s students smiling! For more information about the 2015 grant giveaway, contact Kimberly Elmore.
